Desolate Amsterdam
Desolate Amsterdam

Today, Amsterdam is busier than ever. Crowds of tourists from all over the world are strolling the streets of this bustling city. In 2015, photographer Maarten Delobel captured a rare moment of silence in the city. He chose to picture its most famous sights from Dam Square to Spui, along with its popular shopping streets. The series gives a melancholic and wistful feeling as if the city was abandoned: a desolate Amsterdam. As part of the exhibition in 2018 in de Hallen Maarten decided to photograph Kinkerstraat, where he lives now for many years.
